Branch Maintenance Tech

Overview
Responsible for maintaining and inspecting buildings, equipment, utilities, furnishings, and grounds. Assumes direct responsibility for up to 25 buildings, lease spaces, and up to 8 raw properties. Performs preventative maintenance, makes repairs, and assists, supervises, and directs outside service personnel and vendors as needed. Replaces elements of asphalt, roofs, HVAC, landscaping, lighting, etc. that need repair. Reports major repair and maintenance needs. Conducts bid process with vendors on major replacements. Handles situations involving ADA and OSHA. Assist with all refurbishes, remodels, and new construction set up processes.

Responsibilities
Assumes responsibility for the effective performance of assigned facility maintenance functions.

  • Operates building equipment and utilities systems to maintain proper heat, cooling, power, water, plumbing, etc., at all times. Assists outside service representatives in checking, maintaining, and repairing building equipment.
  • Reviews scheduled cleaning work such as emptying wastebaskets, vacuuming, dusting, window washing, etc.
  • Performs and arranges scheduled preventative maintenance and cleaning. Maintains UPS, generator, water softener, and other equipment at Operations Center. Makes inspections and tests and maintains logs and records reflecting results. Visits each designated Operations Center Campus and/or Branch facility at least twice monthly to determine maintenance needs.
  • Conducts quarterly walkthroughs of building locations to meet safety and maintenance requirements for inspection.
  • Coordinates maintenance activities with Branch/Department managers to ensure that buildings are clean and secure.
  • Performs maintenance on all security systems, fire alarms, door locks, and door closers.
  • Performs minor building and furniture modifications or repairs involving carpentry, painting, wiring, and overhauling.
  • Coordinates and assists with outside service and repair work. Hires vendors and service providers as assigned. Follows-up on work reviews and ensures that outside services are efficiently completed.
  • Completes purchase orders for supplies as requested.
  • Meets with members and designated Branch/Department employees to open and rotate safety deposit boxes.
  • Submits insurance claims for building damages as necessary.
  • Provides 24 hour on-call service as assigned (Weekend coverage may be included).
  • Completes assigned maintenance functions in accordance with established policies and procedures, ADA regulations, and OSHA regulations.

Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective communication, coordination, and working relationships with Credit Union personnel, management, vendors, and service providers.

  • Assists Credit Union personnel as needed.
  • Keeps management informed of area activities, any significant problems or maintenance concerns.
  • Attends and participates in meetings as required. Completes required records and reports.
  • Assists vendors and service providers as needed. Monitors vendors’ performance.
  • Oversees all landscaping, snow removal, and janitorial with vendors.
  • Provides related information, advice, and suggestions to Credit Union personnel as requested.

Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned.

  • Performs miscellaneous and specially requested tasks such as assisting other personnel in rearranging furniture, cleaning and storing equipment, and other jobs as assigned.
  • Assists in set-up of new Branches.
  • Completes assigned training.
  • First responders to Branch/Department managers in case of emergency.

Qualifications
Training/Education/Certification:

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Driver’s License.
  • Bondable.
  • Forklift certified.

Required Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of plumbing, HVAC, patching, painting, carpentry, welding, and maintenance procedures.
  • Basic understanding of architectural and design drawings, word, excel, and computer functions.
  • Basic understanding of OSHA and ADA requirements.

Experience Required:

  • Three to four years of general maintenance work performed.
  • Facility-related project coordination.

Skills/Abilities:

  • Good mechanical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Well organized and able to work well independently.
  • Able to coordinate well with others in communication, planning, and coordinating.
  • Attentive to detail.
  • Able to operate welder, drills, saws, electrical tester, hand tools, snowplow, and salt/sand spreader truck and forklift.
