Primary Function of Position
As the Immigration Case Manager, you will provide immigration legal services to clients in and around Ogden, Utah. You will meet with clients to assess immigration needs, prepare and file applications, and provide community outreach. You will also maintain thorough case documentation through data entry and uphold CCS’s mission of service and respect in every client interaction.
Major Position Responsibilities
- Expert Assistance: Under the supervision of the managing immigration attorney, you will provide legal screening and advice to immigration clients.
- Continuing Education: Begin taking immigration legal courses that will help you earn DOJ accreditation.
- Direct Services: Provide bilingual (Spanish/English) legal services to victims of crime who are eligible for immigration benefits.
- Translation: Translate documents from Spanish to English and interpret for clients with the supervising attorney and the US Citizenship and Immigration Service.
- File Management: Maintain organized immigration files through careful data entry and the management of electronic files to ensure accurate record-keeping.
- Other duties as assigned.
Work Environment
This role is in a professional office environment, utilizing standard office equipment, including computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
Some local travel is anticipated as part of the role’s responsibilities. Travel to Salt Lake City may be required several times a month, but mileage reimbursement will be available.
Physical Demands
While primarily a sedentary role, some filing tasks are involved. This entails lifting files, opening filing cabinets, and occasionally bending or standing as needed.
This role may include driving.

Education, Training, And Experience
- Legal Certification or Degree: Paralegal certification, a Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent experience.
- Law Office Experience: Preferred experience working as a victim advocate or in a law office.
- Bilingual Proficiency: Proficient bilingual communication (English and Spanish) in verbal and written forms is required
- Professional Background: Preferred experience in roles like paralegal, victim advocate, social worker, or community educator.
Background Screening Requirement
- Must pass a national BCI/FBI background check.
Licenses, certifications, and credentials
A current Utah driver’s license and provide proof of auto insurance meeting minimum policy liability limits of $50,000 per person and $100,000 per incident. Additionally, be 21 years of age or older, maintain a clean driving record, and have the capacity to fulfill CCS vehicle safety standards.
Position status and expected schedule
This is a full-time, non-exempt position. The schedule will be Monday through Friday, and most hours should be worked between 8am to 6pm. However, it may be necessary to work some nights and weekends.
