As a member of the Utah Office of Energy Development (OED) communications team, you’ll use your media talents to showcase Utah’s evolving energy landscape. Through video, social media and graphic design, you’ll help tell compelling stories and keep the OED website—our primary hub for information and engagement—fresh and dynamic. In this role, you get to create content for OED social media channels, update and design webpages, harness the power of videography, and provide vital support to the communications team. Responsibilities
Principal Duties

  • Create and post engaging content across OED’s social media platforms.
  • Lead the production of videos for both internal and public audiences.
  • Manage and update the OED website, including creating new pages and refreshing existing ones.
  • Engage and respond to questions, comments, and messages on OED’s social media channels.
  • Collect, track, and analyze engagement data to inform content strategy.
  • Maintain brand consistency across all digital media products.
  • Oversee day-to-day activities on OED’s social media accounts.
  • Produce high-quality video content, from concept to final edit.
  • Monitor website and social media analytics; recommend improvements to boost reach and engagement.
  • Capture photos and video content, including aerial footage.
  • Conduct on-camera and off-camera interviews for videos, social posts and podcasts.

Qualifications

  • Strong video production skills
  • Experience using social media platforms.
  • Preference may be given to those with professional or academic experience in this area.
  • Excellent writing and grammar skills.
  • Good judgment in identifying and crafting public interest stories.
  • Some familiarity with web content management and editing is preferred.

Salary $23.28 – $25.00 hourly
