Minova is coming to Tooele!

Minova is bringing in a brand new, state of the art, Rollform machine. The only other place in the world that they have this particular machine is in Spain, so this is very exciting for the company. With that being said, we realize that we will not be finding candidates with the exact machine experience, but we are looking for a very specific skillset that we think is skill-adjacent to set candidates up for success. For the Rollform Operator, we are looking for skills and experience such as electro-mechanical (heavy on mechanical side), welding, and preventative maintenance.

Role Description and Purpose: Execute the company’s production plan, respecting occupational health and safety regulations and making proper use of available tools and facilities. Perform self-maintenance procedures established by the company and cooperate with maintenance and quality technicians in resolving incidents.

Key Accountabilities

Safety, Health, Environment & Security:

• Be able to exercise stop work authority when hazardous conditions are present in work area.
• Follow safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries.
• Ensure own work practices and environment comply with Minova SHE&S standards.
• Promptly report all unsafe working conditions and incidents.
• Ensure any damage, improvement plans, minimizing waste, and waste reporting.
• Create a positive SHE&S culture by encouraging employees to participate in safety programs, including JSERA’s, JCC’s, and promoting safe work practices.
• PPE (Personal Protective Equipment): Safety glasses, Hearing protection, Gloves, Steel toes, Uniforms

Responsibilities:

• Follow the production plan according to the priorities established in the program.
• Report OEE in the application with correct times, production, and incidents.
• Follow established control plan to ensure manufacturing quality.
• Lead Rollform to achieve production program, with budgeted OEE and performance.
• Train other operators to make sure they deliver expected targets in the line.
• Report workshop incidents in the absence of supervisors and/or shift leaders.

Critical Experience and Qualifications: 

Education/Experience/Skills:

• 2 years vocational/technical training program on mechanics/manufacturing, or an associate degree in roll forming/mechanics/manufacturing, or similar.
• +5 years’ experience in welding tube roll forming positions as a machine operator or in the steel manufacturing industry.

Technical Skills: 

Level 1 – Required – High Expertise

• Roll form operations for steel omega profile and round pipes roll forming.
• MIG welding of flat steel using a welding gun.
• Able to manage steel tooling: shears, cutting saws, grinding wheels.
• Forklift and overhead cranes.

Level 2 – Required – Medium Expertise

• Hydraulic groups and hydraulic pumps technical skills, Hydraulic pistons.
• Pneumatic skills: knowledge of cylinders, EV, valves, regulators, and manifolds.
• Balls and cylinders bearings: maintenance and exchanging parts.
• TPM first level: lubrication, 1 st level maintenance, filter change, oiling.
• Disk cutting saw, cutting disks used
• Office: excel, word

Level 3 – Medium Expertise Preferred

• Rolls change and maintenance routines.
• Coolant circuits, pumps.
• Steel metal industry common operations: stamping, cutting, and bending.
• Preventive maintenance in roll form, LOTO, and safety protocols.
• OEE: manufacturing reporting.
• Quality control plan, SPC.
• Electrical knowledge: sensors, PLC basics, DC motors, encoders, servomotors.
• Electrical drawings interpretation, breakdown troubleshooting.
