Minova is coming to Tooele!

We have 20+ machine operator openings across all three shifts that may be a great fit for students who are actively enrolled in OTECH programs but haven’t graduated yet. We also have two Quality Control Technician openings, one on 2nd shift and one on 3rd shift.

Role Description & Purpose: The general operator is responsible for safely operating manufacturing equipment and supporting production processes across multiple operator functions within the plant. This role is cross trained in various production areas, including roll forming and general production operations to ensure flexibility, efficiency and continuous workflow. Operators play a critical role in producing high-quality products used in mining, tunneling and construction applications while maintaining strict adherence to safety, quality and productivity standards.

Key Accountabilities: 

Essential Duties & Operation 

• Machine Set up and Operation 
  • Operate and monitor production equipment such as roll formers, presses and other manufacturing machinery
  • Perform basic machine setup and adjustments to maintain production flow
  • Load/unload materials and finished goods safely and efficiently
  • Maintain production pace to meet daily and weekly output targets
• Cross training & Flexibility 
  • Work across multiple operator stations as needed based on production demands
  • Support other departments or processes to ensure continuous operations
  • Learn and perform tasks in various production roles to increase operational efficiency
• Quality & Documentation
  • Inspect products for defects and ensure compliance with quality standards
  • Follow work instructions and production schedules
  • Report quality issues, defects or inconsistencies to supervisors
  • Maintain accurate production and scrap records as required
• Maintenance & 5S 
  • Perform basic preventative maintenance (cleaning, inspections, minor adjustments)
  • Keep work areas clean and organized in alignment with 5S standards
  • Assist maintenance team with minor troubleshooting when needed
• Safety & Compliance 
  • Follow all Minova safety, health, environment & security (SHES) standards
  • Use proper PPE at all times and adhere to machine guarding and LOTO procedures
  • Identify hazards and report unsafe conditions immediately
  • Participate in safety meetings, trainings, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Team Collaboration 
  • Work closely with supervisors, maintenance and quality teams
  • Communicate production issues, downtime or material shortages
  • Support team goals and contribute to positive work environment

Tools & Equipment 

• Roll forming machines, presses and general production equipment
• Basic hand tools and measurement devices
• Material handling equipment (forklifts, hoists – with certification)
• PPE: safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, steel toe boots, uniforms

Education, Experience & Skills: 

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Previous manufacturing or industrial experience preferred
• Ability to operate machinery and perform manual labor in a fast-paced environment
• Basic mechanical aptitude (including ability to change wires or minor components)
• Ability to read and follow work instructions
• Strong attention to safety and quality
• Willingness to work overtime, weekends and as needed
