SUMMARY:
The Maintenance Lead is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining industrial machinery and equipment, ensuring optimal operation by performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting malfunctions, and making necessary repairs to minimize downtown and maximize production. In addition, the role must ensure that the facility is maintained, and repairs are completed as required while adhering to Blue Diamonds policies and procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise on-site Maintenance Technicians to ensure that they are on task and performing the required duties.
- Coordinate Maintenance team activities as necessary per Supervisor/Plant Managers instructions.
- Responsible for safely addressing mechanical and electrical (up to 480V) problems.
- Ensure that work orders are addressed daily.
- Perform daily maintenance inspections, visual inspection on lines and heater bands.
- Ensure that weekly and quarterly preventative maintenance is completed as scheduled.
- Keep area clean of debris and orderly and keep eye out for potential safety hazards.
- Respond to calls while on-call and come into Plant as required to respond to needs.
- Clearly understand and follow safety while performing maintenance on equipment and facilities.
- Ensure that plant facility and yards are maintained, repaired and updated as needed.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

- Travel to assist other BDI plants as needed.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma/GED
- Three (3) plus years of Electrical and Mechanical maintenance experience preferred
- Maintenance Experience within a manufacturing setting preferred
SKILLS DESIRED:
- Understanding of PPE and the importance of safety
- Previous leadership experience
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
- Electrical Certification preferred
- OSHA 30 Certification preferred
- Valid Driver’s License
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing this job’s duties, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, stoop, squat, bend, use hands to type, write, drive, or use tools; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The employee will regularly lift, pull, and push 50 pounds, and occasionally lift, pull, push up to 100 pounds. The job requires the employee to be able to stand and walk on a hard surface between 7-9 hours per shift. The employee must demonstrate the ability to meet these physical demands within their 90-day probationary period.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can vary. Typical work environment: non-air conditioned and non-heated with moderate exposure to dust, fumes, vapors, and physical risk.
