Key Responsibilities
The Utah Department of Health and Human Services is seeking a highly motivated, qualified individual to work as a Certified Nursing Assistant in the Correctional Health Services Division. Please note: An offer of employment will be contingent on the applicant successfully passing a DHHS background
check and pre-employment drug testing, and a Utah Department of Corrections (UDC) background screening.
Provide care to inmate patients at the Utah State Correctional Facility
Provide assistance with activities of daily living
Perform vital signs and laboratory point-of-care testing
Provide care as supervised by a Registered Nurse
Supplemental Information
Must have current Certification of Nursing Assistant (CNA). Utah Administrative Rules R432-45
Requires considerable & strenuous physical exertion such as long periods of standing, walking, bending, crouching, reaching, recurring lifting. Must be able to life and carry over 50 pounds.
Risks found in potentially dangerous or unusual environmental stress situations, e.g. being subject to possible physical attack.
Qualifications
Minimum or “day-one” qualifications:
Current and unrestricted certification as a certified nursing assistant.
Preferred or trainable/on-the-job qualifications:
Basic Life Support Certification
