Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility using equipment like Hoyer lifts and other assistive devices.
• Monitor and record vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature accurately using EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems such as Cerner or eClinicalWorks.
• Support medication administration under supervision, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to HIPAA regulations and aseptic techniques.
• Provide specialized care for patients with complex needs including dementia, Alzheimer?s disease, memory care, behavioral health issues, and those requiring hospice or palliative care.
• Assist with medical procedures such as catheter care, phlebotomy preparation, and basic life support during emergency situations in acute or critical care settings like ICU or Level I Trauma Centers.
• Maintain a safe environment by following infection control protocols and practicing proper medical documentation practices.
• Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams in inpatient, outpatient, or home-care settings to ensure seamless patient service and optimal outcomes.

Requirements

• Valid certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) in accordance with state regulations.
• Experience working with diverse patient populations including geriatrics, pediatrics, individuals with disabilities or developmental disabilities, and those requiring specialized dementia or Alzheimer?s care.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and vital signs monitoring.
• Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Cerner or eClinicalWorks is highly preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to perform patient service tasks safely using aseptic techniques and infection control standards.
• Prior experience in healthcare environments such as hospitals (including ICU or trauma centers), nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or home & community care is advantageous.
